A Word of Warning
Even though our site is technically not yet public, we had a recent visitor who read my article on the Game Pond Takeover and sent five emails to our domain webmaster, Flying Omelette, with these for the subject lines:
how did you take over the game pond flying omelette
You'll notice that all of those subject lines are referring to things I talked about in that article. But whoever sent these emails to FO is acting as though she is the one who wrote the article and was responsible for the events of the takeover, when I clearly admitted it was all my doing.
FO has told us before that there are certain people out there who get upset with things people post on her forums or write for websites that flyingomelette.com hosts, but they're too scared to confront those people directly, so they shift all the blame to her.
I'm sorry to disappoint you, but that isn't going to fly with us. If you say something in response to anything we've written on this site, we will act as though you said it directly to us, whether or not you actually did. You're not getting off the hook just because you sent your messages to someone else. And we don't give a shit who it is you sent them to. We don't care if it's FO, or some other member of her forums/sites, or even if it's Barack Obama, or Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy... If the word gets back to us (and it probably will), we will treat it as though there was no middle man.
So, if you're scared of how we might respond to your reactions to us, then you better keep it to yourself and find some other website to lurk around, because pretending someone you think is an easier target wrote the article so you can vent your problems on them isn't going to save your ass.
No, our site doesn't have a contact email, but that's not an excuse. There's no reason you can't register for the forums and post there, and if you want it to be private, you can use Yuku's messaging system to send us a PM. (Unless you've been banned from all of Yuku for something, but then that's your problem, now ain't it?)
I'm guessing the rationale behind this is that someone was too afraid of mean ol' Daryn and Troy to complain directly to us about the Game Pond article, but thought that by harassing FO about it instead, she'd make us take it down. Well, guess what? We're aware that this particular person is a repeat offender who complains constantly about various things different flyingomelette.com members have said. So, why should we care about one more drop of water in his ocean?
