Strange and Funny Video Game Box Art
Here is a collection of video game box art that I find either strange, unusual, or hilarious for whatever reasons.
So, mankind has gotten to the point where a boy and his dog can be in space with a robot (is the robot a human-made design or an alien? I dunno...), and what we use that technology for is to play fucking Tic-Tac-Toe. I'm not sure what the dog is getting out of all this, either. The game itself was less than impressive. I could almost never win the stupid thing because it's hard to tell where the X's and O's line up across the four planes. Sometimes when I'd play it with a friend, one of us would win without even trying.
On the list of box art that would actually make me NOT want to buy the game, this would be near the very top. Seriously, it looks like these people want to lure kids into their house so they can eat them - especially that couple at the bottom with the controllers. "Look, kids! Look what we got! Don't you want to plaaaay??" And, really, porn-face in the lower right.
Breakout...isn't that the game the astronauts took to the moon? Astronauts to the moon? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Atari 2600 box art was often more amusing than the actual games are. This is the most fucked-up idea of a "Carnival" I've ever seen. There are two different carnivals that come to my town once a year and so far, no bloodthirsty bears or killer birds on dope have ever been a part of them.
Sheldon Cooper and Greg Kinnear on steroids fight a Satanic goat with a Stormtrooper and a monkey. Sounds like the greatest game ever made.
The Atari 2600 era was so screwed up.

Word from the wise: Don't ever make a character's clothing almost the same color as his skin - because it will look like he is naked. And it's even more difficult to believe it wasn't done on purpose when it looks like the guy has a penis showing.
Oh, no, no, no. Absolutely no suggestive imagery intended here, folks. That guy is just really that happy about being a human cannonball. Really.
It's Fabio. It's fucking Fabio! I never finished this game, but I like to imagine the ending is Fabio/Kuros just about to rescue the princess, when the Evil Other Woman shows up and turns out to be the true final boss. Beating her reveals that she was Malkil's Evil Mother-in-Law and he had amnesia the whole time.
I agree with the lower right corner there - "Ninja Golf" is definitely a new sport to me.
Apparently, someone's idea of "stealth" is having Max Headroom go to a cornfield to launch stealth bombers from his chest. Once you're Max Headroom and you can launch military aircraft from your body, is the gun really necessary?

"The box art designers later admitted that they had deliberately chosen this theme in order to attract the customer with something original, considering there were many space shooters in the market that looked alike."
I don't know about you, but the most "attractive" thing I can think of is a creepy-looking old man playing a banjo. Didn't the box art designers ever see Deliverance?
Flying Omelette put it better than I possibly could: A really bored dragon and a guy who's just slightly annoyed that a really bored dragon is flying over him.

As FO and Crawl put it, "A game about There exists an altered version of this box art in which someone expressed the exact thoughts I'm sure a lot of people had when they saw this game on store shelves, but I also agree with the person at Port Saiid (Tyler) who said that this box art is pretty darn hilarious even without the edited text.
